About the (C)OD

About (Cautiously) Optimistic Dad
I’m not a guru.
I’m not an influencer.
I’m just a guy figuring it out as I go.

(Cautiously) Optimistic Dad started somewhere between long days, late nights, and a brain that doesn’t shut off. That space between fixing things that shouldn’t still work, overthinking everything, and trying to build something that actually matters when you have no idea what you are doing, but have that determination and stubborn pride to prove a point to yourself.

This brand isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up anyway. It is for, the guys who build things instead of talk about it, the ones who are tired but keep going, and the ones trying to be better dads, better men, better humans, and husbands.

It’s for the ones who aren’t there yet… but aren’t quitting either.

What I Make
Shirts that actually say what you're thinking.
Designs that aren’t fake motivational garbage.
Projects, builds, and ideas that come from real life.
If it’s here, it’s because I’d wear it, use it, or stand behind it.

I have had many experiences from my younger single days through to the present being a husband and father, where my mental health has pushed me to my limits. My sense of humor was used as a coping mechanism. I have put things off far too long and it's taken a toll. The last few years I have been diagnosed with anxiety and PTSD, then recently with ADHD Inattentive. Things are clearer and I want to be a voice for those struggling to find a way to manage their load. Medication is finding its rhythm and my always running brain has so many ideas I started this page.

Why It Exists
Because life isn’t clean.
It’s messy, loud, frustrating, and sometimes heavy.
But somewhere in all of that—
there’s still a reason to keep going.
That’s the “cautiously optimistic” part.

If You’re Here
You probably get it.
And if you don’t yet—
give it time.
